The Taylor Lab at BMES 2024 Annual Meeting!

The Taylor Lab proudly represented at the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) 2024 Annual Meeting, showcasing our latest research in musculoskeletal restorative engineering. Our lab members presented their cutting-edge work across podium and poster sessions, highlighting advancements in tendon biomechanics, rehabilitation, and scaffold development.

Presenters:

  • Kari Shama, 4th Year PhD Candidate, gave an oral presentation on “In Vitro Tendon Models to Investigate the Effect of Diseased Tendon Pathology on Extracellular Vesicle Profile.”
  • Mariah Turner, 3rd Year PhD Student, presented a poster titled “Reduced Tendon Biomechanics in Regenerative Spiny Mice: A Comparative Study with CD1 Mice.”
  • Harrison Broadway, 3rd Year PhD Student, gave an oral presentation on “Regenerative Rehabilitation for Tendinous Reparation via Electrospun Polycaprolactone Scaffolds” and also presented on behalf of Andrea McPherson on “MATLAB-Based Automated Analysis Tool for Evaluating Fiber Alignment in Tendinous Scaffolds,” as Andrea recently graduated with her bachelor’s degree.

Congratulations to all our presenters for their impactful contributions!
